Broads Out West

Howdy from Tucson, AZ! Yesterday was Joseph's first flight aboard the oh-so-friendly American Airlines. I understand that things have changed with flying, but things have changed with flying!!! Surely there are friendly flight attendants left in the world? Unfortunately, their incredibly bitter brothers and sisters were on our flights. Aaron got checked (think hockey) by a couple of them when they were doing the drink delivery, and we got a kick out of that. Oh well. The skies may no longer be friendly on some planes, but we are safe and sound in Tucson, so we're all happy campers.

Joseph did pretty well on the planes. He didn't love the cooped up part of flying, but the DVD was the miracle worker. He was still a sweet fellow, though. We were met in Tucson by a thrilled Nana and Grandpa Broad. Yesterday Joseph met his Uncle Toby Dun Dee the dog, and they became fast friends. They swam and played fetch and ate pot roast and carrots (oops...the pot roast and carrots were for Joseph, but he quickly learned that Toby is a fun vacuum cleaner). Nana bought J a new crib and all kinds of toys for his very own room in Tucson, so Joseph has settled in nicely.

Today we woke up at 5:00am and "let" Joseph play in his crib (and nap here and there) until 6:00am. We didn't want the 5:00 thing to become a habit. After a light breakfast, we walked to the Manzanita Elementary School playground, where J and Toby played, then to a shopping mall down the road where we had a little breakfast and coffee. We played, had lunch, and took loooooong naps when we got home...At least the Tennessee Broads all took naps. Tonight we ate burgers and hot dogs and played some more, and Joseph went to bed a happy little camper. I've heard rumors of fountains and pumpkin patches, but we'll see...I know we'll get in a lot of fun Nana and Grandpa time. I'll post as I can. :)
